107BEAUTY: A Korean Skincare Brand for your Routine

MY SKIN TYPE IS DRY, ECZEMA PRONE, IRRITABLE, SENSITIVE SKIN with fine lines and wrinkles.

The perfect Korean skincare brand? There are so many that do not disappoint and this is another that might just become a staple in your skincare routine, 107Beauty.

If you know me by now, you will know that I like to ask Why. Why is a brand recommended, why is it claiming to be great. I have had so many bad encounters with skincare brands claiming to use cutting-edge skincare science to formulate their products to be the saving grace to my skin and it does not end up that way. My skin ends up paying for it, rebounding in a huge flare. So let’s look at why 107Beauty is so great.

If you’re someone who loves pampering your skin with gentle, effective, and natural ingredients and no synthetic dyes. Let me gush about why 107 skincare products has me excited. 107 Beauty claim, a Holistic and Balanced Approach to Skin Care Based on Centuries-Old Fermentation Secrets and was co founded by Chloe Kwak.

First off, we need to talk about their fermented ingredients.  The magic behind 107 lies in their use of traditional Korean hanega vinegar that’s been aged for over 7 years and is their core ingredient. This powerhouse ingredient is like a time machine in a bottle for your skin — brightening, hydrating, and keeping that bouncy, youthful glow. Traditional Korean Hanega vinegar is a hidden gem in skincare, particularly loved for its natural and holistic benefits.

Rich in Antioxidants

Hanega vinegar is crafted through a meticulous fermentation process that can last up to 7 years. This long fermentation process boosts its antioxidant content. Antioxidants are key for neutralizing free radicals, which can damage skin cells and lead to premature aging. By protecting your skin, they help maintain a youthful, radiant glow. ✨

Natural Source of Amino Acids

During fermentation, Hanega vinegar develops a variety of amino acids, which are vital for skin health. Amino acids help:

  • Strengthen the skin barrier.
  • Retain moisture.
  • Soothe irritation and promote overall skin repair. These benefits make it ideal for all skin types, especially sensitive or damaged skin.

Anti-Inflammatory & Soothing Properties

Thanks to its unique fermentation process, Hanega vinegar contains natural anti-inflammatory properties. These properties can help:

  • Reduce redness and inflammation.
  • Calm breakouts and soothe irritation.
  • Balance oily skin by regulating sebum production.

Natural Exfoliation Without Stripping

The gentle acidity of Hanega vinegar makes it a mild exfoliant that helps to:

  • Remove dead skin cells.
  • Brighten dull complexions.
  • Unclog pores for clearer, smoother skin. Unlike harsh chemical exfoliants, it works softly to maintain your skin’s moisture and pH balance.

Boosts Skin Microbiome

Fermented ingredients like Hanega vinegar are rich in probiotics, which can enhance the skin’s microbiome. A healthy microbiome is crucial for:

  • Protecting against environmental stressors like harsh weather conditions.
  • Reducing breakouts and sensitivity.

 Balances pH Levels

Skin loves being at a slightly acidic pH (around 4.5-5.5). Hanega vinegar, with its naturally low pH, helps maintain this delicate balance. This ensures your skin stays protected from harmful bacteria, keeping it healthy,  less prone to irritation and improving skin’s moisture barrier.

Traditional Korean Hanega vinegar isn’t just a trendy ingredient—it’s backed by centuries of use in Korean herbal medicine and age-old beauty secrets.  Its combination of antioxidants, amino acids, anti-inflammatory benefits, and natural exfoliation makes it a powerful ally for healthy, glowing skin.

MY SKIN TYPE: DRY, RED, IRRITATED & SENSITIVE, with fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Chaga Jelly Low pH Cleanser –
  •  A gentle, pH-balanced cleanser infused with chaga mushroom extracts to soothe and hydrate the skin while effectively removing impurities.
  • Key ingredients: Chaga Mushroom, Green tea leaf extract and Centella Asiatica Extract. Centella Asiatica Leaf  has therapeutic skin soothing properties.
  • This was very gentle on my skin I did not feel any irritation or dryness. A hint of scent which was divine and my skin tolerated.
  • Micro Drizzle Hydro Toner –
  •  This toner is formulated with hyaluronic acid and ceramides to deeply hydrate and prep the skin for the rest of your skincare routine. It aims to restore the skin barrier and improve elasticity.
  • Key ingredients: 3 types of  hyaluronic acid, Japanese Camelia leaf extract. Japanese camellia leaf extract is high in polyphenols (including catechins), antioxidants (including tannin) and vitamin C, all of which help to nourish, soothe and protect skin.
  • I did not try this product as I do not use toners in my routine. However this does say its fragrance free, no greasy residue and suitable for skin redness and irritation which is unique so I might give it a try at some point and let your know.
  • Everyday Plump Hydro Cream – A rich yet lightweight moisturiser designed to plump and nourish the skin with its blend of fermented ingredients and plant extracts. NO ADDED FRAGRANCE
  • Key ingredients: 7 year aged vinegar, vinegar fermented ginseng (see below), Squalane, a botanical lipid that’s derived from olives, is rich in oleic acid and antioxidants and is a natural emollient. It helps to provide a protective barrier against water loss and external irritants as well as improve skin elasticity. And Sunflower Seed oil rich in vitamins A, D and E.
  • For me this was my favourite product. It is dreamy and soft to put on and its fragrance free, which is very reassuring for my gentle skin. Not being too rich and the tub a little on the small side  it will not last that long for my thirsty skin.
  • Squalane Cuddle and Avocado Cuddle Sheet Mask – These masks are designed for intensive hydration and nourishment, using plant-derived ingredients to leave the skin feeling soft and rejuvenated.
  • Key ingredients: 7 year aged vinegar, Avocado Fruit Extract to moisturize skin and seal in hydration and Hydrolyzed jojoba esters which are essential fatty acids from jojoba plants that help to soften skin and squalene derived from olives.
  • I do not usually use masks however my skin loves Sqalane from olives and responds well to niacinamide therefore I was intrigued to use the squalane cuddle mask. This mask for me was a real treat for my face, no irritation or burning. I was so pleasantly surprised.
  • Scalp Purifying Microbiome Shampoo – This hair care product focuses on balancing the scalp’s microbiome with a blend of prebiotics and probiotics, ensuring a healthy scalp environment.
  • Key ingredients: 7 year aged vinegar, vinegar fermented ginseng to minimise inflamation, prebiotic and probiotic ferments and Terminalia Chebula Fruit Extract which is an antioxidant rich in phenolic acids that helps to soothe, revitalize and strengthen fatigued scalp.
  • Due to my sensitive skin I have to be careful what I use on my scalp as it will run down my body in the shower. i also used to have  a little seborrheic dermatitis. I started by using a minimal amount and found that there was no irritation. It is fine for my scalp and I tolerate this heavenly herbal clean smell which makes pamperinga little more exciting for us girls with sensitive skin routines.

Unfortunately I  could not find the dewy glow serum mist on their website and think this could now be discontinued.

Time will tell with these products, I will be back after some time to update on how my skin tolerated these as part of my routine over several weeks. I am hopeful as it’s great to find beauty products that promote holistic wellness, old traditions and ingredients found in nature.

Love Amanda x
